Growing up in Santa Clara, I saw firsthand what it looks like when city government isn't working for everyone. Families being priced out of their homes. Small businesses struggling to survive. Neighborhoods that feel left behind. I'm running because District 2 deserves better! Growing up as the only daughter in her household in Santa Clara, Yvonne went on to become a first-generation college graduate from Mission College &amp; San Jose State University (Political Science major)—an experience that fueled her lifelong commitment to expanding opportunities for working families in our region.Yvonne knows firsthand what’s at stake for working families in Santa Clara. In 1998, her parents stretched every dollar to be able to afford their family home here—a dream that is no longer in reach for so many. Watching them achieve that milestone taught her how stable housing and strong, welcoming neighborhoods form the bedrock of a thriving community. Today, she and her husband are proud to build their lives right here, deeply invested in Santa Clara’s future.

Too many Santa Clara residents are one rent increase away from being forced out of the community they've built. That's not acceptable. The focus will be on policies that protect renters, expand affordable housing options, and make sure working families can afford to stay in the city they love.

Cracked sidewalks, overgrown lots, and poorly lit streets are not small issues, they affect how safe people feel and how proud they are of where they live. Every corner of Santa Clara deserves the same attention and upkeep, and that starts with holding the city accountable for maintaining what it already has.

Infrastructure & Clean Neighborhoods 

Santa Clara sits at the heart of the most innovative region in the world. The work ahead is making sure that energy benefits everyone here, not just large corporations. That means cutting red tape for small businesses, attracting responsible development, and keeping Santa Clara a city where entrepreneurs and workers alike can thrive.

Economic Growth

&nbsp;Santa Clara is carrying a significant budget deficit that won't fix itself. Residents deserve a council member who will read the numbers, ask the hard questions, and make responsible decisions that close that gap without gutting the parks, services, and programs our community relies on every day.
